Clarify your "body problem" and map the new path forward

Parent body image workshop (2/6)

As parents, we often come last—putting our kids’ needs before our own, sacrificing our self-care for their activities, and prioritizing their well-being over ours. And amid the long list of things we’ve been neglecting (note to self: schedule that mammogram), our body image is often dead last. In fact, I doubt it even makes the list.

Most parents I meet aren’t in full-on crisis with their body image—they’re just living with a low-grade, decades-long hum of dissatisfaction. A quiet “body ick” that feels so normal, it barely even registers.

Doesn’t everyone dread putting on a swimsuit? they ask as the weather turns warmer.

Sure, many people do…but not everyone. And it doesn’t have to be this way for you.

That’s exactly why I created Reclaim Your Beach Body Legacy—a 6-part, self-paced workshop for parents who want to feel more embodied and less caught up in body loathing this summer. When we nurture our own body image healing, we don’t just change how we feel in our bodies—we change the legacy we pass down.

In Module 2 of the workshop, we dive into:

  • The differences between body-positivity, body image, and embodiment.

  • Our goals are for our kids' relationship with food and body.

  • How these goals often reflect ruptures in our own development.

  • How we’ve misunderstood our body problems.

  • Ways our efforts to fix our bodies have made our body image worse.

  • A new, more empowering way to think about the problems AND solutions.

  • A path forward toward more body peace.

  • 5 deeply healing homework assignments to help integrate this work.
